Manitou's for Ozzie Army

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) has taken delivery of a large, unspecified number of Manitou telehandlers, boom lifts and forklifts.

The forklifts and telehandlers aim to modernise the army’s fleet as part of the ‘Land 8120 Project’ funded by the Department of Defence. The units will be used for construction and maintenance operations in Australia and overseas.

Manitou Australia hosted a closing ceremony at its headquarters in Lidcombe, Sydney, to mark the completion of the deliveries, with guests invited to tour the facility and attend presentations.

Stuart Walker, managing director of Manitou Australia, said: “The Land 8120 project is a testament to what can be achieved through true partnership. Working closely with the Department of Defence, we’ve delivered world class machines that meet the highest operational standards while strengthening industrial collaboration between France and Australia.”

Manitou Australia marketing manager, Jean-Philippe Gilbert added: “We are proud that Manitou’s expertise in Rough Terrain equipment has contributed to the Defence Force’s capability and readiness. Beyond the machines themselves, this collaboration reflects the shared values of innovation, trust, and partnership between France and Australia.”
