The company says that the investment will help increase production of its high strength steels, such as Hardox 500Tuf and Armox, many of which are used in crane and aerial lift manufacture. The company also produces a Fossil Free steel used by companies such as Fassi and Manitou.
Per Elfgren, head of SSAB Special Steels said: “The demand for advanced steels, including wear steels, is growing. This new quenching line will initially add around 100,000 tonnes in capacity, enabling us to serve the most advanced customer needs.”
