Wolffkran tower cranes at Bauma
Wolffkran Werk Brandenburg GmbH currently manufactures tower elements in the form of welded steel constructions for a range of crane types in Lübben. The growing order book and increasing demand for complete cranes and individual components mean that the company is currently operating at full capacity.
The new plant, just 12 kilometres from Lübben, will be built in two stages with the production hall occupying an area of 85 metres x 70 metres and will include “state-of-the-art semi-automated production equipment” with several different lines.
The hall will include two gantry cranes and five bridge cranes, each with a lift capacity of 18 tonnes and which run the entire length of the facility. Raw materials will be unloaded using a traveling crane installed alongside the plant and stored in the open yard.

Dr. Peter Schiefer
Dr. Peter Schiefer, chief executive of Wolffkran said: “We continue to place our faith in Germany as we are convinced that we can only ensure the high quality of our products in this country. After carefully scrutinising other possible sites, we decided on this site in Brandenburg above all because of the optimal infrastructure, the opportunity to produce in three shifts around the clock and the scope for expansion here.“
The selection of Luckau for this facility confirms Wolffkran’s long term commitment to the Brandenburg region as the company’s second production centre after Heilbronn.
