Merlo to unveil new concept at Bauma

Italian telehandler manufacturer Merlo will unveil a host of new products and ideas at Bauma in April, including a new road going boom/scissor lift, a 14 metre spider lift a heavy duty fixed frame telehandler and a higher capacity Roto telehandler.

The most unusual idea is the MPR15/18 which marries a road going 4x4x4 chassis, similar to that used on its all terrain concrete mixer, with a telescopic boom and large scissor type platform.

The new model with will travel at up to 40kph will be fully self propelled from the platform, will rise vertically with a single control motion, boast a platform height of 13.6 or 16 metres and a capacity of 1,000kgs.

In addition to its up down operational rage the platform will rotate about its support point to provide lateral outreach. The machine is expected to weigh around 11 tonnes.

The Company will also launch a 14 metre version of the Cingo based spider lift it showed at SAIE in October along with a number of new telehandler models and in true Merlo style a surprise or two…possibly.

The key new telehandlers will comprise the 16:24MCSS 24 metre Roto with 6,000kgs lift capacity and an 18 metre fixed frame model with 5,000kgs lift capacity aimed at the Canadian market.
