New chairman for CPA crane group
The UK’s Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) has appointed Peter Gibbs as chairman of its Crane Interest Group.
The last chairman was Janet Entwistle, one of Gibbs predecessors as chief executive of Ainscough Crane Hire, she left Ainscough last year after almost three years in the role - see: link [https://vertikal.net/en/news/story/32542/entwistle-steps-down-at-ainscough](Entwistle steps down). CPA chief executive Kevin Minton has been standing in as chairman of the crane group on an interim basis.
Gibbs joined Ainscough in 2018 as chief operating officer and took over from interim chief executive Jeremy Fry in March of this year. He had spent the previous 18 years in the food logistics business following a 18 year career as an officer in the British Army - see:

The CPA's Kevin Minton, said: “The Crane Interest Group is one of the most influential industry bodies in this sector. Peter’s knowledge, experience and position will undoubtedly augment the work of the group for the benefit of the construction industry.”
Gibbs added: “This appointment is a great honour and I look forward to using my role to further the interests of our industry to key stakeholders.”

What a breath of fresh air this guy is at ainscough. Respectful, savvy, level-headed, considered, articulate. Running the business in the way it deserves to be run.
