Fatal crush
Worksafe Victoria has confirmed today that a man died on Wednesday following a crushing incident while operating an aerial work platform on a construction site in the town of Truganina, on the west side of Melbourne.
The man, 31, was operating the platform alone at around 17:00 after his colleagues had left for the day. He was found when they arrived for work the following morning.
The death is the state of Victoria’s first workplace fatality of 2023.
