California based aerial lift manufacturer MEC has added to its sales & marketing team and promoted Brian MacFarland to the newly created role of executive vice president. MacFarland who worked with many other MEC team members during his time at UpRight, joined MEC in 2020 as vice president of replacement parts.
Spare parts director Kyle Waller has taken over from MacFarland as vice president parts & product support.
He also joined the company in 2020 having spent some time with Amazon after more than five years with Genie.
In terms of new recruits the company has appointed Dave Baxter as vice president of marketing & product management, he has been working with the company on a consulting basis since October. He returns to the access industry after a 14 year gap, having worked with both UpRight from 1994 until 2001 when he joined JLG as director of North American marketing and market development and then director of strategic business planning - a role he held until 2012, when he left to join Skyjack. An ensuing legal battle with JLG prevented that from going ahead, so he took a job with Harsco Rail before moving to wheel chair lift and mobility product manufacturer Hamar as vice president marketing, leaving last year. He began his career in 1994 as market research analyst with UpRight.
