See Tower crane fire and jib collapse in Sydney . Crane operator Glen May, 60, fought the fire and then climbed back in the cab to slew the jib over the top of the building to avoid possible injuries and damage to those below.
Meanwhile his colleague, dogman dogman Nuno Nunes, 36, climbed up the crane to help ensure May got out of the cab and then helped him down. Both were on the crane when the jib came down after its luffing cable burnt through.
