New production manager for PB

German aerial lift manufacturer PB has appointed a new plant manager, Thomas Ziegler, to run its expanded production facilities.

Ziegler joined PB in April and is now responsible for the entire technical sector including the PB service. The principle focus of his work at this stage is to structure and optimise the whole production process for PB’s range of heavy duty scissor lift, from the material procurement to final inspection. As part of his brief he will be looking increase production flows at various bottle neck points in the new plant, and look to automate various processes.
He also takes over PB Service where he is expected to make changes to ensure an improved customer support programme.

Thomas Ziegler

Ziegler joins PB from Albert Ziegler Company, a leading manufacturer of fire fighting equipment, where he has worked the past 23 years. During this time he held a number of positions, with responsibilities ranging from purchasing to logistics, project management, production planning and quality management.

PB moved into its all new facility in February with the aim to increase capacity, the company has been a victim of its own success, with lead times growing, while promised delivery dates – often given months in advance, have occasionally been difficult to meet. The company will clearly hope that the new manager can use his experience to help improve efficiency and consistency and make the most of the new building and other investments the company is making to increase production.
