New MD for Manitou UK

Manitou has appointed Mark Ormond as the new manging director of Manitou UK taking over from Jonathan Tapp who has left the company.

Ormond joins the company from agricultural equipment manufacturer Same Deutz-Fahr, where he was been managing director of the UK distribution business for the past three years. He has spent the past 25 years of his career in the agricultural equipment market, having started out in the family farming business, before joining agricultural equipment distributor Thurlow Nunn Standen as a sales rep in 1995.

In 1997 he joined Swedish equipment manufacturer Väderstad as a regional sales manager for the UK operation, moving to company headquarters in Stockholm two years later to become sales team leader. In 2006 he moved back to the UK with German potato harvester manufacturer Grimme as managing director of its UK sales and support operation. A year later he joined German arable equipment manufacturer Lemken as general manager of its UK operation. He joined Same Deutz Fahr in 2015.
He is also the current president of the Agricultural Engineers Association.
