UK lighthouse authority and maritime charity Trinity House has taken delivery of a 35 tonne Grove RT540E Rough Terrain crane. It joins an RT765E-2 delivered in 2017.
The RT540E features a 31 metre four section main boom plus a 13.7 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum 47 metre tip height. Additional features include a rear view camera, Crowland’s wireless wind speed system and a galvanised navigation buoy carrier which enables the crane to safely lift and carry buoys around a quay.
The crane was delivered by UK dealer Crowland Cranes and replaces a 35 tonne Kato Rough Terrain crane. Upon delivery it went straight into operation supporting coastal operations from the charity’s Swansea location.
Trinity House is dedicated to safeguarding shipping and seafarers. It also provides education, support and welfare to the seafaring community with a statutory duty as a general lighthouse authority to deliver a reliable, efficient and cost effective aids for the benefit and safety of all mariners.
