Second Grove for Trinity

UK lighthouse authority and maritime charity Trinity House has taken delivery of a 35 tonne Grove RT540E Rough Terrain crane. It joins an RT765E-2 delivered in 2017.

The RT540E features a 31 metre four section main boom plus a 13.7 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum 47 metre tip height. Additional features include a rear view camera, Crowland’s wireless wind speed system and a galvanised navigation buoy carrier which enables the crane to safely lift and carry buoys around a quay.

The crane was delivered by UK dealer Crowland Cranes and replaces a 35 tonne Kato Rough Terrain crane. Upon delivery it went straight into operation supporting coastal operations from the charity’s Swansea location.
