New Imer spider and UK distribution

Italian aerial lift manufacturer Imer Access has launched a new 15 metre spider lift and added a regional dealer for north east England and Scotland.

The latest addition to the company’s line up is the IM R15 DA articulated model and is the first Imer Spider lift to use a dual sigma type riser. In this case it is topped by a two section telescopic boom and articulated jib, to provide seven metres of outreach at an up & over height of seven metres with an unrestricted platform capacity of 230kg.

Power comes from a choice of petrol/gas or diesel engines plus an 230 volt AC drive motor for quiet fume free work indoors. It offers an overall width of 799mm with hydraulically extending tracks retracted, while its the working footprint is 3.1 by 2.9 metres. The outriggers feature automatic levelling and can level up on slopes of up to 12 degrees. Total weight just over two tonnes.

The company says that the new model “competes with the current market leaders in terms of across the board performance, but with a higher standard specification and a significantly lower price tag.” Wireless remote controls, non-marking tracks and the ‘Imer View’ GPS remote diagnostics and management system are all standard along with a five year warranty.

Imer has also appointed the newly formed access specialist Cherrypicker Shop to cover north east England and Scotland. With service points in County Durham and the central belt of Scotland, the new company says that it is “well positioned to support sales activity plus parts, service and warranty across the region including Highlands and Islands.”

The new dealer is owned and managed by access industry veteran Richard Tindale. In addition to his role as a dealer, he will also work directly with the company on the direct sale of Imer Access products, which also include specialist scissor lifts and industrial boom lifts, to major rental companies throughout the UK. Tindale has a long experience in sales and marketing within the access industry, having previously worked in the UK, Ireland and the US with companies such as Simon, UpRight, Snorkel, Versalift, Gardner Denver, Ascendant and IAPS. In recent years he set up and managed The Partsyard business to supply used and obsolete machine replacement parts to the powered access industry.
