BigRentz boosts senior management team

US based rental network BigRentz has appointed Tom Belmont as chief operating officer, reporting to chief executive Scott Cannon.

He joins the company after a year as a freelance consultant, prior to which he spent 15 years with MNX Global Logistics - most recently as chief operating officer - having joined the company in 2005 as senior vice president services Americas and Asia Pacific. He began his career in 1982 with Halbart Express where he became general manager before leaving for Global Delivery Systems in 1999 where he held a number of roles, including director of operations for South America. He left the business in 2005 for MNX. Belmont will be responsible for “the alignment and prioritisation of company investments and ensuring operational excellence across the company".

Chief executive Scott Cannon said: “Tom is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers customer centric results. Big Rentz has also promoted Jim Arabia to chief marketing officer with responsibility for the company’s strategy, planning, and implementation of BigRentz’s marketing and customer retention initiatives as the company scales operations. He was previously vice president marketing, having joined the company in 2017 from Standard Drywall where he was a marketing consultant.

He began his career in 1995 as an intern with O’Leary & Partners, becoming art director before moving to Local Corp in 2000 as advertising and brand manager. Three years later he set up his own advertising and brand development business. In 2012 he joined technical and management services company WBB as vice president of marketing, leaving to work with Standard Drywall.
