New MD for Manitowoc UK

Earlier this year Manitowoc appointed Pier Domenico Ravera as managing director of Manitowoc UK, its sales and distribution business based in Gawcott, near Buckingham.

Ravera joined Manitowoc in 2019 as director of operations at its production facility in Niella Tanaro, Italy where it produces Potain tower alongside a couple of models of Grove Rough Terrain cranes which are sold in Europe and the wider region.

Pier Domenico Ravera

Prior to joining Manitowoc, he spent 24 years with brake material manufacturer Ferodo, starting in 1995 on the shop floor and as a machine operator, steadily moving upwards taking on roles with increasing levels of responsibility. In 1998 Ferodo became part of the Federal-Mogul group, presenting further opportunities for Ravera. Over the following years the promotions continued, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities, including quality control, procurement and cost accounting, to supply chain manager.

In 2018 while still working with Ferodo he spent time studying in the UK, at Durham University Business School, where he says he fell in love with the country. On completing his MBA in 2019 he accepted the position at Manitowoc in Italy and is now getting into his first job with responsibility for sales and support activities.
