Denzai acquires Daiei

Japanese heavy lifting and transportation company Denzai, has acquired Hiroshima based Daiei Construction Corporation.

Daiei was established in 1971 in Fukuyama and over the flowing years expanded to cover the grater Hiroshima region. In 1983 it set up a heavy haulage division, with cranes following on later.

Denzai chief executive Kohki Uemura said: “Kasoka City in Hiroshima prefecture is to become a major production centre for offshore wind turbine monopiles, and we hope to create synergies by combining the network of Daiei with the plentiful resources of the Denzai group.“
When the acquisition is completed later today, it will take the number of Denzai locations in Japan, it also runs subsidiaries in 11 other countries and employs 1,233 in total.
