Articulated pick & carry crane manufacturer Terex Franna has launched the 17 tonne/19 ton FR19 US in North America, where it joins the 20 tonne/24 ton AT24 US model, which was introduced in 2023.
The Franna FR19 US
The crane can handle its maximum capacity at 1.5 metres from the centre of the front wheels, and features a 17.9 metre four section boom, with short jib attachment that takes the maximum tip height to 20 metres. The crane is powered by a Tier 4F Cummins diesel, driving a powershift transmission and sprung front and rear axles, for a maximum road speed of 80kph/50mph. It has an overall chassis length of 6.13 metres and an overall length from rear bumper to boom tip of 9.23 metres, with an overall width of 2.41 metres. Overall height is just under three metres.
To support the FR19’s entry into the market, Franna has established a dedicated support team in Wilmington, North Carolina, providing service, spare parts, and technical support across North America, aided by a growing dealer network.
Andreas Ernst, general manager Terex Material Handling & Lifting Americas said: “Following the strong performance of the AT24 US, we are excited to introduce the FR19 US to the market. This new model blends Franna’s trusted reliability with features tailored to the needs of North American customers, offering exceptional lifting capacity, efficient operation, and the versatility required for challenging worksites.”
“We are committed to expanding our product offering to meet the growing demands of customers across the United States, and this will continue, with the AT44 US later this year.”
Jason MacKenzie, president of Select Cranes in New Jersey, Florida and Virginia added: "We believe the Franna offers distinct advantages over other pick & carry options in several applications. To showcase its versatility, we decided to bring one in for demonstration purposes. Since its arrival, we've received positive feedback from customers and are now considering a larger investment in the Franna product by expanding our rental fleet with additional units."
