UK crane rental company Roadcraft has taken delivery of the first 130 tonne Liebherr LRT 1130-2.1 to arrive in the country.
The first Liebherr LRT 1130-2.1 in the UK
The crane purchased by Roadcraft was the one displayed on the Liebherr stand at Vertikal Days in September. The two axle LRT 1130-2.1 features a seven section 60 metre main boom, said to be the longest on any two axle Rough Terrain crane so far. It is topped with a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with offsets of up to 40 degrees and can be extended with a seven metre insert for a maximum tip height of around 88 metres. A 2.9 metre assembly jib can be stowed on the left side of the boom.
Other features include VarioBase variable outrigger set up, monitoring and automatic load chart selection for the actual base configuration.

Financial director Mike Caine said: “The team at Roadcraft are delighted to be the first UK rental company to bring the LRT1130-2.1 into its fleet. The crane is an extremely versatile and powerful machine with excellent lifting capacities. With its exceptional manoeuvrability, compact design and excellent stability, the machine – which was brought into our fleet with the needs of a specific customer in mind – will be a great asset to the business and into the future.”

Merseyside based Roadcraft Crane and Plant Hire was founded in 1920 by Henry Carey, to manufacture electric cargo trucks used on the Mersey docks. Located on Knowsley Road, Bootle, the company quickly expanded its operations and, in 1933, moved a mile down the road into its current premises on Strand Road. It runs a fleet of mobile cranes ranging from 13 to 200 tonnes. For more pictures and facts on Roadcraft’s first 100 years
