Service director for PSR

UK based equipment distributor Access Platform Sales (APS) has appointed Neil Ashton as service director of its new after sales subsidiary Platform Service & Repair (PSR).

Ashton joined APS in July last year as a service manager after more than 11years with Versalift, where he was head of aftersales. He began his career with the British Army in 1988 as a 'fitter' service engineer with the Royal Engineers, leaving in 1996 to join crane sales and rental company AGD as service manager. After 17 years in the role he moved to Versalift, initially as product support manager, and in 2022 he was promoted to head of after sales.

Ashton said: “I’m proud to be part of PSR and to take on the role of service director. High performing service and aftercare support are critical to maximising safety, equipment uptime, and return on investment for our customers. I look forward to working with the team to build PSR’s service offering and consistently deliver dependable support.”

APS managing director, Andy Bray added: “Neil’s extensive experience and proven leadership in service and after sales make him the ideal person to guide PSR’s service operations. His appointment reinforces our commitment to delivering outstanding support and expertise across the industry.”

PSR was established when APS and IPAS merged in 2013 and combined their service departments. They sold PSR to Terex/Genie in 2016 and it operated as a separate company, until 2022, when it was merged into Genie UK, and the PSR name was dropped.

Last year, APS took the decision to take back the PSR brand and set it up as a separate service business again. So in 2025, it changed the name of a dormant subsidiary - LGMG UK - which it had registered in 2023, when it was the LGMG distributor. Thus, Platform Service & Repair Ltd (PSR) was reborn and has now become operational.
