250 tonner for Süderau

German rental company Krandienst Süderau has taken delivery of a 250 tonne Tadano AC 5.250L-2 All Terrain crane, replacing an older 220 tonne Tadano model.

Launched at Bauma last year, the five axle AC 5.250L-2 features a 79 metre eight section main boom with a range of 5.8 to 30 metre lattice extensions, taking the maximum tip height to 112 metres. The crane features Tadano’s IC 1 Plus and Surround View systems, as well as the Eco mode and a start-stop function for reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions. The crane was also ordered with a ‘surround view’ camera system and includes a load monitoring camera on the main boom. For its first job, the crane loaded and repositioned heavy duty containers at a nearby power plant.
The crane all ready to go to work

Managing director Max Lindemann said: "We regularly modernise our fleet and were looking for a replacement for our existing 220 tonne Tadano crane. We had our eye on the AC 5.250L-2 from the start and ultimately chose it because of its many advantages."

"We also ordered the crane with a 12 metre extension - including a heavy lift attachment - so we can extend its reach even further when needed. This makes the powerful crane, with its 80 tonne counterweight, extremely versatile and suitable for lifts involving great heights or requiring the load to be moved over obstructions."

Founded in 2002 and based in Süderau, northwest of Hamburg, the company runs a fleet of All Terrain cranes from 40 to 400 tonnes, also offering specialist transport services supported by a team of 15 employees.
