UK based rental company John Sutch Crane Hire has taken delivery of a new 50 tonne Tadano HK 4.050-1 truck mounted crane, the first in the UK.
The HK 4.050-1 is mounted on a four axle Volvo FH 500 chassis and can travel on public roads with its maximum 8.5 tonnes of counterweight on board, while still coming in at less than 9.5 tonnes per axle. The crane features a 35.2 metre four section boom, with the option of a 9.3 metre swingaway extension which takes the maximum tip height to almost 48 metres.
John Sutch said: "Our investment in the Tadano HK 4.050-1 is a testament to our ongoing pursuit of excellence and our commitment to meeting the needs of our clients. This crane will allow us to provide even more efficient lifting solutions. It's an addition to our fleet that I can't wait to see in operation.”
“We've embarked on a new chapter in our crane operations and our recent movements in the market suggests that as we gear up for a big 2024. We remain dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our clients through cutting edge technology, 50+ years of expertise, and our commitment to improvement."
The Tadano is the 35th crane in the fleet and follows the purchase of a Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 a couple weeks ago. Sutch plans to have 40 cranes in its fleet by the end of 2024.
Established in 1990, family run John Sutch Cranes is based in Liverpool with a second location in Manchester. The company employs 86 and runs a fleet 35 of All Terrain cranes, truck cranes and self-erecting mobile tower cranes with the largest in the fleet being the 450 tonne Liebherr. Next year, John Sutch plans to step down as managing director, with his daughter Hayley taking over.
