Senior moves at Genie Europe

Genie has appointed Thibaut Itzel as sales director for Southern Europe - France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal - along with North & Western Africa. He takes over from Christophe Rousseau who will be leaving the company. Itzel was previously sales director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which will now be handled by Markus Bandura.

Thibault Itzel joined Genie as a regional parts manager for France and the German speaking region and was promoted to his current role in September 2022. He joined the company from DAF Trucks where he was team leader/product manager, starting out with the company in January 2016 as a fleet sales manager in northern France.

He began his career in 2010 as a product manager with Kia Motors in Frankfurt, Germany, leaving after a year for Hyundai where he was appointed as European business development manager, after three years in the role he was promoted to area parts manager, which included a move to France. He left the company at the end of 2015 for DAF.

Markus Bandura takes over from Itzel as sales support director for the German speaking region, he is currently territory sales manager for the region.

Bandura joined Genie in 2020 from John Deere dealer Meyko, where he was sales manager. He began his career in 1997 as a product support specialist with truck manufacturer Stihl sales in Dieburg, near Darmstadt. In 2000 he joined John Deere, initially in a product support role, later transferring to the company’s European sales and marketing organisation as a product manager for utility vehicles and tractors. He left the company for Meyko in 2018.

The announcement added: “The Genie team wishes long-time team member Christophe Rousseau, well as he prepares to leave Genie. Since 1999, Rousseau has helped build Genie’s presence in Southern Europe, developing strong customer relationships and showcasing Genie’s commitment to quality along the way.”

Rousseau joined Genie in 1999 as regional sales manager for France and Northern Africa from crane and aerial lift manufacturer Grove, where he had been a regional manager since 1990. He went on to manage Genie France alongside his regional duties. He was appointed as regional sales manager for Southern Europe, Northern and Central Africa in 2011, and given the title of sales director a few years later.
