Speaking as he left Ahern he said: “After 18 unforgettable years at Snorkel, I will turn the page at the end of the year to start a new chapter in my life. To say I had the time of my life at Snorkel would be an understatement. Beginning in 2008, Snorkel gave me an incredible opportunity to grow professionally and as an individual. Since then, we have gone through a lot, navigated several challenges, built something great, and I couldn't be prouder of everything that we have accomplished together.”
“To all my Snorkel colleagues, thanks for putting up with me every day. We had our ups and downs, but, overall, it was all about hard work and fun.”
“To my mentors, thanks for the memories and knowledge that I will take with me long into the future. Some of you have been the best ‘partners in crime’ anyone could ask for, and I'll miss our daily interactions more than words could ever express.”
“To my customers, friends and all the amazing people I've had the pleasure of working with, thanks for your support and our time together.”
“And to all of you who have made this ride a truly special one, thanks for being part of my life. While it's a bit tough to say goodbye, I'm ready for what lies ahead—embracing fresh challenges, gaining new experiences, embarking on new adventures...I just can’t wait to see where this new journey takes me.
Delgado entered the access business in 2001 when fresh out of college, he joined Spanish sales and rental company, Termiser, an UpRight distributor at the time, as technical and after sales service manager. After five and a half years in the role quit the access industry to become managing director of the Cuban arm of Julio Crespo, a protective paint and coatings supplier/service company.
He barely lasted 18 months before deciding to return to the access business, joining UpRight as an area product support manager at the start of 2008. In the meantime, UpRight had been acquired by Tanfield, with Snorkel added in the year that followed. In late 2008, he was promoted to district manager for Southern Europe, with South America added a little while later. The UpRight and Snorkel brands were merged in 2010. In 2011, he was promoted to European sales manager, a role he filled for nearly eight years, until he helped set up Ahern Iberica, becoming its first managing director, a role he held until the end of December.
